The Weekly Reels System

The pod structure, shot list and edit pipeline behind consistent 20+ reel weeks.

8 min

Twenty reels a week is a systems problem, not a creativity problem. The teams that ship consistently have a pod structure that separates thinking from shooting from editing, and a shot list that removes the daily "what do we film?" decision.

The three-role pod

  • Strategist. Owns the weekly plan and the search-and-trend brief. Ships the shot list every Sunday.
  • Creator. Owns talent, camera, sound. Films two batches per week against the shot list.
  • Editor. Owns cover text, on-screen text, captions, and cadence. Publishes on the calendar.

The batch day

Two four-hour blocks per week. Twelve to fifteen concepts per block. Reset outfits and framing on the hour. No batch-day should end without a full edit list handed off.

The publishing calendar

  1. Mon: high-intent search reel (a query answered).
  2. Wed: POV or hot take.
  3. Fri: BTS or founder-forward.
  4. Sat: repurpose the week's winner as a carousel.
Operating note
Publishing more than you can review kills the account faster than publishing less than you should. The calendar is a promise to the audience — keep it.
